Our Whole‑Home Remodeling Process
Whole‑home remodels involve many moving parts: structural changes, mechanical upgrades, phased construction and living arrangements. We organize the work into clear phases so you can continue living in your home while your project progresses. Timelines vary widely based on scope, but we break work into logical sections to minimize disruption
Step 1: Consultation, Assessment, and Planning
We meet on site to evaluate your home, discuss goals and budget, and identify structural, mechanical or layout changes. We inspect electrical panels, plumbing systems, HVAC, insulation and windows. We develop a master plan outlining phases and project priorities—kitchen, baths, flooring, windows, additions and structural work.
Step 2: Design, Scope, and Material Selections
We collaborate on design concepts and define the scope for each phase. Material selections are organized by area (kitchen, bathrooms, flooring, lighting, paint, trim, exterior finishes) to avoid delays. We choose cabinets, countertops, tile, fixtures and finishes in advance and confirm lead times.
Step 3: Estimate Review and Approval
We prepare a phase‑by‑phase estimate with allowances, selections and a high‑level schedule. We outline how phasing will affect daily living and identify any temporary arrangements (temporary kitchens or baths). Once approved, we move forward with permitting and orders.
Step 4: Scheduling, Permitting, and Ordering
We obtain permits and schedule inspections for structural, electrical, plumbing and HVAC work. We order long‑lead materials (windows, doors, cabinetry) and coordinate delivery to match each phase. We plan temporary living solutions and dust containment strategies to protect occupied areas.
Step 5: Demolition, Structural, and Mechanical Work
Work begins in the least disruptive areas first. We install temporary barriers, reroute utilities if necessary, remove walls or ceilings, and upgrade electrical and plumbing systems. Structural work is completed and inspected, and framing, insulation and drywall follow. We minimize downtime by coordinating trades and inspections.
Step 6: Finishes and Installations by Phase
Once rough work is complete in a phase, we install cabinets, countertops, flooring, tile, trim, and fixtures. Painting and finish carpentry are completed before moving to the next area. We repeat this sequence phase by phase until the entire home is finished. We coordinate trades to keep progress steady.
Step 7: Cleanup, Punch List, and Walkthrough
We clean the site daily and perform a thorough cleaning at the end of each phase. After final completion, we conduct a comprehensive walkthrough to review every room, note touch‑ups and adjustments, and ensure systems operate properly. We provide warranties and maintenance guidance.
